Progressive Muscle Relaxation

Modern everyday live is busy and has several different challenges that can increase tension in the body.


Relaxation techniques can help to release tension and relax the body, so that the body can be energised and brought back into balance and there is a general feeling of calmness.


The Progressive Muscle Relaxation method uses two steps -Tensing of a muscle group and then releasing the tension and consciously becoming aware what it feels like when those muscle groups are relaxed.

During the class we also concentrate on regulating your breathing patterns, and together these techniques will help to slowly release tension held in the body, as well as helping you to achieve a calm and relaxed state of mind.

The method is easy to learn and can be practised lying down, sitting or standing in everyday situations, at home and even at work.

Learning to use this relaxation technique will give you the tools to deal with stressful situations and reduce physical tension that we often carry in our body without being aware of it.

  • encourage a deeper sleep
To practice find a quiet and comfortable place.  You will need a mat or blanket to lie on, a cushion and a blanket to keep you warm.
